Terms and conditions

The short version — we plan and introduce; licensed local businesses deliver. Your contract for the activity is with them.

1. What this service is

We are a planning and introduction service. We take your travel dates and requirements, ask independent local businesses in our destinations whether they are available and what they charge, and present you with options. If you accept one, we arrange the booking with that business on your behalf.

We are not a tour operator, a boat operator, a ski school, a guiding company, a caterer or a private-hire company. We do not own vessels or vehicles, we do not employ guides, instructors, skippers or chefs, and we do not deliver any of the activities described on this website.

2. Who you contract with

The contract for any activity, transfer, meal or charter is between you and the local business that provides it. That business’s own terms — including price, inclusions, deposit and payment arrangements, cancellation policy, weather policy, minimum ages, fitness requirements and liability provisions — govern what you have booked, and we give them to you in writing before you confirm.

Where we pass information between you and that business, we do so as your intermediary. Nothing on this website constitutes an offer by us to provide the activity itself.

3. Licensing and fulfilment

We arrange activities only with businesses that hold the registration, licence or professional certification required in their own country for the activity in question. Depending on the destination and activity, this may include maritime tourism registration, protected-area or navigation permits, national or regional guiding qualifications, mountain- and ski-profession registers, private-hire licensing, or food-business registration.

We take reasonable steps to confirm this at the point we begin working with a business and to keep our records current. We do not, and cannot, supervise the day-to-day operation, equipment or staffing of an independent business.

4. Information, prices and availability

Prices shown anywhere on this website are indicative ranges intended to help you plan. They are not quotations. The only binding price is the one confirmed in writing for your specific dates, group and requirements, and it is the local business’s price.

We describe departure points, routes, seasons, durations and conditions from information given to us by local businesses and from published sources, and we label an estimate as an estimate. Conditions change; if something we have told you turns out to be wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

5. Weather, conditions and cancellation

Many of the activities we arrange depend on weather, sea state, water levels, snow conditions or protected-area access rules. The decision to run, alter, shorten or cancel an activity is made by the operator delivering it, and it is a safety decision that we neither make nor override.

Where an activity is cancelled or altered for weather or safety, the operator’s policy determines any refund, credit or reschedule. We will help you arrange the alternative. We are not liable for consequential costs such as flights, accommodation or other bookings affected by a weather cancellation.

Wildlife encounters, including whale and dolphin sightings, are never guaranteed. Nor is access to any specific cave, cove, island, viewpoint or summit where port authorities, protected-area rules or conditions on the day restrict it.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for giving accurate information: the number and ages of your party, relevant medical conditions, dietary requirements, allergies, real fitness and experience levels, and any mobility limitation. Several activities we arrange have genuine minimum ages, fitness thresholds or experience requirements, and a business is entitled to refuse participation where these are not met.

You are responsible for valid travel documents, any visas, and appropriate travel and activity insurance. We recommend insurance that expressly covers the activities you intend to do.

7. Safety-critical activities

Certain activities we arrange — including mountain ascents, via ferrata, canyoning, rafting, paragliding, off-piste and ski guiding — carry inherent risk that cannot be eliminated by any operator, however qualified. These activities are led by certified professionals who are legally entitled to lead them in their country, and you must follow their instructions, including a decision to turn back or to stand a day down.

We publish honest difficulty, fitness, season and weather information for these activities so that you can make an informed decision before you book. If you are uncertain whether an activity suits your group, ask us before booking rather than after.

8. Our liability

We are liable for our own acts and omissions in providing the planning and introduction service — for example, failing to pass on a requirement you gave us in writing, or misdescribing something we were told. We are not liable for the acts, omissions, equipment, staff or insolvency of an independent local business, or for loss arising from an activity we did not deliver.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Complaints

If something goes wrong, tell us as soon as you can — ideally while you are still in the destination, when it can usually be fixed. We will take it up with the business directly. Where a complaint concerns the operation of the activity, the business’s own complaints process and terms apply, and we will support you through it.

10. Website content

The content of this website is ours, is provided for planning purposes, and may be updated at any time. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement of anything beyond the specific service we have described.

The registered name, company number, registered address and governing law of the company operating this website are set out in the booking documentation we send you, and are available on request through the contact page. These terms are governed by the law of that company’s place of establishment, and by any mandatory consumer protections available to you in your country of residence.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you confirmed it, and we will provide a copy on request.
